Hi, I’m Mell!

The creator of Sew and Craft Workshops. I’m a full-time teacher of Design Technology and Food & Nutrition, with over 20 years of teaching experience, and a lifelong passion for creativity.

Sewing has always been at the heart of what I do, and I love experimenting with new ideas for workshops—especially combining sewing with vinyl, card crafts, and designs made on my Cricut machine. I enjoy mixing traditional techniques with modern crafting tools to create unique, practical, and fun projects for adults, children and parent and child sessions.

Sew & Craft offers inclusive, wellbeing-focused sewing and craft workshops in a calm, supportive environment. With a patient and encouraging approach, everyone is given the space to build confidence, learn practical skills, and enjoy the mental health benefits of creativity.

As a teacher, I have developed thoughtful and effective strategies to support children with additional learning needs, helping them feel confident, calm, and ready to learn.

DBS

I maintain a clear DBS check along with a current basic first aid qualification, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for you or your child.

Work

I run my sewing and craft lessons alongside my full-time teaching role.

I offer sewing and craft clubs for children during the school holidays.
